    • Between Terran Habasion cross familiarity 1 point avoid -1 penalty when using the others tech
    • Ridalians must take 2 levels of High TL and after that which ever tech they experienced is now their base.
    • Anyone to Ridalian tech 2 points slight familiarity (-2 instead of -4)or 4 points for complete familiarity
    • For Solarian to Calipso 1 point partial familiarity 2 points complete Familiarity.
  • General Rule For everyone else sum the +# and multiply it by -2 and it cost 1 point per negative modifier removed.

Unusual Background

  • Bio-Boosted 15 point: Allows for some of the more extreme physical and mental Advantages.
  • Military
    • 5 point: You are a former or low ranking military member. It allows you to have things like advanced body armor and military weapons at a normal price.
    • 10 point: You are an espionage or high-ranking military member. You have access to gadgets and gismos that few other do.
  • Traveler
    • 5 point: Allows for tech and cultural familiarity for one extra culture;
    • 15 point: Allows any and all tech and cultural outside your native to be chosen.
  • Chip Creator
    • 10 points: Allows Mech to create Chips for other Mech. This a common trait for their translators and scientists.
